This will include the fundamentals of no-waste cutting\, period hand stitching\, an overview of tools and materials\, and the basics of shirt construction. There will be a discussion of styles and other elements that indicate specific periods and how these clever construction techniques can be adapted to modern garment making. Students will leave with a shirt cut to their measurements on its way to completion and the knowledge and skills to complete it at home. Please expect homework in between sessions. The price of the workshop includes all fabric and notions.
