Racial learning is a growing field based on the science of childhood development. For decades\, experts have published studies concluding that toddlers and young children make racial observations and absorb stereotyping. Unfortunately\, there is a disconnect between this and when most adults believe that they are. Likewise\, young children are making astute perceptions about the world around them. They pay attention to who is boss\, observe the advantages of a wealthy life\, and draw correlations between power\, privilege\, and race.  \n\n\n\nRacial and anti-bias learning provides children with language\, concrete reasoning\, and space to appreciate and make sense of our many similarities and differences. It also offers guidance to help children process and scrutinize the prejudice and inequity they observe in the world around them and learn how to act against it. Activities will include drawing\, hands-on discovery\, read-a-loud\, and mixing paint to discover our unique skin color. Age-appropriate discussions will include laws\, racism\, resistance\, learning about child activists\, and more.
